With literally hundreds of exciting things to see and do at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021, how do you decide what to include in your itinerary?

We have a piece of advice: Try a little bit of everything! That includes watching air shows, visiting exhibitor booths, admiring aircraft on display, and participating in some of the incredible educational opportunities available at AirVenture. Today, we’re sharing a few of the hands-on activities, presentations, forums, and workshops you won’t want to miss at this year’s event.

Homebuilders’ Workshops

Whether you’re in the midst of building your own airplane or you’re toying with the idea of taking on a project, there’s no place like AirVenture for homebuilders to learn and connect. Check out one of the many hands-on homebuilders’ workshops and forums to learn about topics such as choosing a kit, metal fabrication and shaping, fabric covering, composite construction, and flight testing your finished plane.

If you’re not a homebuilder already, there’s a good chance you’ll leave feeling inspired to start an aircraft build project of your own!

Kid-Friendly Activities

EAA AirVenture has always been a place where young people can discover the joy and freedom of flight. In an effort to introduce even more young people to the possibilities of the aviation world, youth ages 18 and under will be admitted free of charge to this year’s event.

There’s something for every aviation-minded family to enjoy at Oshkosh, including a range of hands-on activities and programs in the popular KidVenture area. Kids of all ages will also learn a lot about aviation history at the Warbirds Youth Education Center, where they can even take the controls of simulators modeled after iconic airplanes.

Tech Tips for Aircraft Owners, Operators, and Mechanics

If you own an aircraft or work on maintaining them, you might be interested in attending a few informative presentations from the aviation industry’s top manufacturers and suppliers. This is a great opportunity to advance your knowledge and get your technical support questions answered straight from the source!

Our friends at Hartzell Engine Technologies will be presenting a free, 45-minute Forum Series on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Superior Air Parts outdoor exhibit (booth 257-258) across from Hangar B. Featured topics include turbochargers and piston engine performance, aircraft electrical systems, and an overview of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and Parts Manufacturer Approvals (PMAs). Tech Thursday, a special forum for licensed A&Ps mechanics and A&P students eligible for IA credit, will focus on the topic of alternator drive couplings.

As always, Hartzell Propeller’s technical experts will be at our exhibit (booth 296-297) to answer any questions you may have about your aircraft propeller!
