German Aviation Authorities Certify Hartzell Conquest II Propeller Conversion

Date: May 2, 1994 Category: Press Releases

PIQUA, Ohio — May 2, 1994 — Hartzell announced today that it received German certification of its Top Prop™ four-blade propeller conversion for the Cessna Conquest II at the end of last year. Official approval of the new propeller system coincided with deliveries to numerous Conquest II operators based in Germany.

The Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) is the German equivalent of the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States. As such, it officially sanctions changes to original type certificates. Hartzell is pursuing official certification of the system from governing bodies in various additional countries operating Conquest IIs.

Hartzell’s Conquest II propeller conversion provides operators with significant reductions in cabin noise levels, increased acceleration, shorter take-off rolls, better climb and cruise performance as well as enhanced fuel burn and prop de-ice capabilities.

Hartzell Propeller Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of propeller systems enjoying 60 percent market share on turboprop airliners and 85 percent market share on corporate turboprops. The 76-year-old company is also well known for its design leadership having introduced the industry’s first full-feathering propeller for light twins, the first fully-reversing propellers for corporate turboprops and the industry’s first composite structure blades.
