Countdown to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024: Top 5 Things to See and Do

Date: June 25, 2024 Category: Blog, Oshkosh 2024 Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024 is right around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited for another spectacular year at the World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration!

As they say, AirVenture isn’t something you attend. It’s something you do! And whether you’re interested in homebuilt and experimental aircraft, daring aerobatic performances, historic warbirds, or the latest aircraft models and performance upgrades, there’s something for everyone.

As we countdown the days to #OSH24, we’re sharing some of the events and activities you won’t want to miss:

#1: Planes, Props & More at the Hartzell Propeller Booth

With hundreds of aviation brands and vendors at Oshkosh, it’s helpful to plan out the exhibits you want to visit in advance. You can find Hartzell Propeller’s outdoor exhibit at booth #296-297, where we’ll be featuring rotating aircraft on display, free educational sessions, meet & greets with aerobatic pilots, and experts on hand to answer all your aircraft propeller questions.

New this year — tag us (@HartzellProp) in your photos on Instagram or Facebook and show our team at the booth to receive a FREE Hartzell gift! We’ll be at Osh all week long, so be sure to stop by and see our new photo wall on the back side of our booth.

#2: Check Out the Warbirds Tram Tour

With so much to see at AirVenture, you can count on getting your steps in (and then some!) each day. When your feet need a break, it’s the perfect time for a Warbirds Adventure Tram Tour.

Hartzell Propeller is a longtime sponsor of this free, 30-minute narrated tour, which runs Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and covers all 12 zones of the Warbirds display area. It’s the fastest and easiest way to see upwards of 400 to 500 jets, fighters, bombers, trainers, and other aircraft that shaped history.

#3: Test Your Skills at the Pilot Proficiency Center

No matter your level of flying experience, the EAA Pilot Proficiency Center offers the opportunity to grow your skills with the best experts in the industry. Register for new Optimal Learning workshops and engage in hands-on training with state-of-the-art simulation devices from Redbird. Hartzell Propeller is proud to be a sponsor of the Pilot Proficiency Center and support ongoing flight safety training.

#4: Cool Off at the Seaplane Base

Another “hidden gem” at Oshkosh is the Seaplane Base, presented by Wipaire. It’s a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the main AirVenture grounds, offering shady picnic tables to watch all types of seaplanes (many with Hartzell props!) take off and land on Lake Winnebago. Attendees can take a shuttle or drive over to the base and enjoy a free pontoon boat ride with descriptions of the different seaplanes along the shoreline.

#5: Oshkosh “After Hours”

Tons of activities happen each day at AirVenture, but if you stick around, you can see some truly amazing flying “after hours,” including nighttime air shows on Wednesday and Saturday featuring Redline Air Shows’ fireworks and a 500-drone light show performance.

Plus, don’t miss the Twilight Flight Fest in the Ultralight field, especially the popular STOL (short takeoff and landing) demonstration. Stay to watch backcountry pilots showcase the capabilities of their aircraft — many of which are equipped with Hartzell’s signature STOL backcountry propellers, the Trailblazer and Voyager!

See You at Oshkosh 2024!
