PIQUA, Ohio – Jan. 8, 2001 – Hartzell Propeller Inc. announced today that it has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) certifying a two-blade, 82-inch diameter propeller installation for Cessna 182 to 182P aircraft with O-470-L, O-470-R and O-470 -S engines.

More than 10,000 Cessna 182 through 182P aircraft were produced between 1956 and 1976, and many of the propellers on these aircraft are reaching the end of their service lives. The new Top Prop™ kit is the lowest cost option for owners to replace the aging threaded McCauley propellers originally installed on these aircraft.

Hartzell’s Top Prop conversion kits feature improved service and maintenance benefits including a six-year, 2,400 TBO (the longest service interval available). The propeller also has the Hartzell Plus Three™ warranty, covering parts and service for three years or 1,000 hours.

The complete STC kit for the Cessna 182 aircraft includes the two-blade propeller, polished spinner and STC documents for $5,995.
