Hartzell Propeller Looking for More Employees
Piqua, Ohio, Feb. 2, 2022 – Responding to an upsurge in future orders for aircraft propellers, Hartzell Propeller is seeking to expand its manufacturing workforce in Piqua by at least 10 percent. General Aviation’s worldwide leader in propeller manufacturing has openings for 25 to 30 qualified individuals and has launched a regional advertising and social media campaign to expand its workforce.
“As the market for propeller-driven aircraft has heated up, Hartzell Propeller has an immediate requirement for qualified applicants with technical competencies,” said JJ Frigge, company president. “A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, and experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus.”
He noted many of the general touch labor jobs begin at approximately $20 to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. That is equivalent to $40,000 to $50,000 per year, before overtime. The company is also looking for higher paid skilled machinists.
Required Technical Competencies
Higher paying CNC machinist positions are responsible for operating one or more machine tools or special purpose machines to required specifications in a state of the art manufacturing facility.
Hartzell Propeller is a small, family-owned, team-oriented company where individual contributions are encouraged and recognized. The company’s main manufacturing facility is located in Piqua, Ohio, approximately 25 miles north of Dayton – the birthplace of aviation. Piqua is a community of 22,000, which offers a friendly, small-town atmosphere, yet is still an easy drive to Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati.
